Sonic Monkey Drone Edition1.25 - Google Play

This is our favorite Sonic Monkey - it's totally freaking cool.

== What is Sonic Monkey? ==

You really just have to hear it. Give Sonic Monkey 15 minutes and it will take you to far away places, with sound. From soothing and mundane, to exotic or downright surreal, Sonic Monkey's constantly-evolving fabric of sound is unlike your usual "sample board" or loop player.

* Important: Sonic Monkey creates an evolving sound painting: Give it time to warm-up. Good headphones or sound system are also highly recommended. *

== Describing the "Drone" Theme ==

* An ambient sound art toy inspired by and in homage to SomaFM's excellent "Drone Zone Radio"...which it totally is.

* Waves of white noise ride on bassy rumbles, pushing organic and synthetic sound sculptures out into an ocean of warm dark mysteries, affected antique samples, and circuit bent oddities.

* Imagine "Punk Rock", if it had been invented in 1912 by Alan Turing and Léon Theremin.

* Might be the soundtrack to the dreams of 65,536 self-aware calculators.

* Fans of The Residents, Drone Zone, Eno, Autechre, Experimental, Drone, Ambient and Noise genres, will enjoy this theme!

== What is a Sonic Monkey? ==

Sonic Monkey is the "ambient sound effects art toy" inspired by professional sound design techniques. Weaving a constantly-evolving fabric of sound, it gives the impression of environments ranging from the natural to the surreal. No two listening sessions are quite the same.

* Note: This is our favorite monkey, the flagship, the very reason Sonic Monkeys were invented - and the full version will always be free! Expect frequent optional updates as we continually improve the experience!

== Features Include ==

* Totally unique approach to dynamic, ambient sound generation.
* Tune Sonic Monkey from a subtle background to a bizarre, evolving cacophony.
* MonkeyVision (TM) simian visualization system (no extra charge).
* Careful sound editing
* Many completely unique sounds
* Instructions included, in several languages.
* Accessible by visually impaired (let us know if we can improve!)
* Runs on many older devices!
* Various visual styles
* Only-slightly-buggy sleep timer (working on it, boss!)
* No perms of any kind required.

== Popular Uses ==

* Ignore noisy environments (it's actually very good for that).
* Sleep (but expect some very bizarre dreams, with this one).
* Mood enhancement for "artists" or other weirdos.
* Soundtrack for the world's strangest vacation video?
* Atmospheric sound for your gallery opening.
* DJ backing: They know what I'm talking about.
* Listen while arrogantly twisting the sterile canvas snoot of a fully charged icing anointment utensil.

== Notes ==
* To leave monkey playing 'in the background', use the 'home' or 'apps' buttons to return to your launcher. We've made the default 'back' action silence the app, for convenience sake.
* Heard through a good (read: loud) stereo or headphones, Sonic Monkey's more subtle features will shine.
* Note: This is a fresh app - there may be bugs: We pledge to keep improving it!
* Note: This has nothing to do with robotic "drones", and everything to do with the "drone" genre of ambient sound - which had the name first, so there! :)

Keep an eye out for Sonic Monkeys in other flavors, soon. Enjoy your monkey, and thanks for your suppooort! That's us fading out as we leave. Meh, you get it.

== Special Thanks ==
We wish to acknowledge the import and influence of musical and non-musical pioneers that have broken the waves before us, including John Cage, Christian Wolff, Brian Eno, Sonic Youth, and so many more, for continually pushing us all toward the edges of Art. Sonic Monkey owes everything to their tradition of disruption.
